IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?
If you want to start offering TADs as a treatment option in your practice immediately but don’t feel confident in treatment planning, placing and removing TADs, or managing the mechanics for your cases, this course is for you!

WHY SHOULD I USE TADs?
- MORE PATIENT STARTS: No more referring patients out because you can’t help them unless they are willing to do surgery.
- AVOID SURGERY: Miniscrews allow you to treat some surgical cases without surgery.
- FASTER TREATMENT TIME: Considerably shorter treatment time in comparison to traditional mechanics in some cases.
- HIGHER TREATMENT FEES: Charge higher fees while still saving your patients a ton of money by avoiding surgery.
- MINIMIZE PATIENT COMPLIANCE: Stop begging your patients to wear their rubber bands.
- MECHANICS CONTROL: Full control of your mechanics and the confidence of where treatment is going.
- STAND OUT FROM COMPETITION: Differentiate yourself by offering treatment options that your competition doesn’t.
- TRANSFORMED PATIENTS: Sit back, relax and let those raving patients do your marketing for you.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
MINISCREW NOMENCLATURE & PRESCRIPTION
We’ll discuss the different types of TADs, their specific design and features, as well as indications and contraindications.
DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT PLANNING
We’ll dive deep into diagnosis and treatment planning. We’ll dissect TAD best practices, as well as discuss tips and hacks to optimize your time, results, and your staff’s learning curve.
AVOIDING & MANAGING COMPLICATIONS
Dr. Cope’s TADs success rate is well over 95%. You’ll learn dos and don’ts for miniscrew treatment to maximize your success.
ESSENTIAL MINISCREW MECHANICS
STERILIZATION GUIDELINES
PRESENTING TADS TO PATIENTS
The word implant can be intimidating. We’ll discuss how to present and explain TADs as a treatment option to your patients without freaking them out.
HANDS-ON PLACEMENT
We’ll spend a substantial amount of time in hands-on practice, so that by the time you leave, you can do it on your own.
LIVE PATIENT OBSERVATION
WHY WE'RE LEADING THE WAY
1. We Stand Alone
There is simply no other course out there that offers this level of personalized attention by a world expert, a comprehensive hands-on participation workshop, and live patient observation.
2. We're Personal
We are limited to 16 attendees only and the course will take place in Dr. Cope’s private practice, which allows for a level of instruction and participation that is unparalleled.
3. We're Objective
We’ll teach you everything you need to know to successfully implement TAD’s in your practice.
4. Simplified Mechanics
Our philosophy: Use as many TADs as necessary, and as few as possible to achieve the desired outcome. You’ll learn smart treatment planning for TADs, so you’ll need fewer miniscrews to achieve ideal results.

PREREQUISITES
You must have a comprehensive understanding of orthodontic biomechanics with at least 2 years of full-time orthodontic practice and advanced training.
WHO IS JASON B. COPE?
Dr. Cope’s was a pioneer in the development of Temporary Anchorage Devices focusing on the development of clinical protocols and products to enhance MiniScrew Implant (MSI) use. He began using TADs in 1999. After several years of use, he partnered with IMTEC Corp in Ardmore, Oklahoma, in 2003, to develop the Ortho Implant, the first US manufactured orthodontic MSI.
He coined the term Temporary Anchorage Devices and developed the nomenclature system used by most orthodontists today to describe the various different types of TADs. He developed the Cope Placement Protocol™, the first minimally invasive protocol that utilized drill-free MSI placement with topical anesthetic only.
He also developed a patented life-like triple-density typodont for teaching MSI placement methods. Other protocols and products he developed include the biomechanically-oriented MSI-based palatal protocol for openbite closure, the patented openbite closing transplatal arch, the biomechanically-oriented MSI-based molar protraction protocol, the concept of temporarily replacing missing permanent lateral incisors in growing kids with MSIs, as well as the patented locking closed coil spring for TADs.
During this course, Dr. Cope will show you everything he knows and recommends about starting the use of miniscrew implants in your practice in a simple and practical way. He’ll also show you how to streamline your workflow using TADs in the most seamless manner possible so you can achieve consistent results without the frustration of the standard learning curve.

COURSE OUTLINE
You’ll implement everything you learn immediately through our hands-on, step-by-step processes to help you start placing and treating patients with TADs in your practice right away.
This 2-day introductory course covers the placement and use of miniscrew implants (MSIs) in specific cases. Dr. Cope uses his unique PhD background in bone biology in combination with basic biomechanical principles to explain the fundamentals of miniscrew implant placement, loading, and use in a way that no other current speaker can…and with success rates well over 95%.
During the course:
-Several specific cases will be treatment planned and analyzed mechanically to ensure that participants fully understand the ramifications of incorporating miniscrews into clinical practice.
– Dr. Cope will walk you through the confusing nomenclature surrounding the “prescription” of miniscrews, indications & contraindications, treatment planning, sterilization protocols, surgical placement, biomechanical considerations, clinical applications, removal procedures, and potential complications.
